In my secondary education I attended at the Institute "San Pablo Misionero".I attended from age 11. This institute is very close to my house in the town of San Bernardo. It was not difficult to reach and had not to get up very early to arrive on time.
At my school I went excellent student, I met many people and my great friends of the life, with which we are still together.
My older sister also went to this school. I was friends with my classmates, her classmates and her friends that my sister knew in other courses. During class I listened to the teachers and talked with my classmates. Sometimes my classmates and I made disorder but I were good student and and teachers never punished me. At recess talking with my friends and I hung out with my sister and her friends. It was a very entertaining stage.
I remember Some teachers fondly. they taught me values and they taught me a lot of different subjects. Others I recall with disgust because I realize I did not learn much with them and others who simply do not marked nor positively and negatively in may life. Today I have not close contacts with any of them.
The technology was poor, but I had computer in my house. I did not need much technology to get a good education. I needed more reading and reflection.
Secondary education is a very influential stage in life. If decide whether to continue studying and what to be studied. But most important is a stage where we learn values.
Education is a complex issue that involves the entire society, not only to the authorities. We have to give a substantive discussion beyond the quantity and educational content and reflect on the man and woman that we want to be in this educational system of our society.
Education is not only merit and not just a maneuver the system. It not depends only on the desire of each person or educational opportunities. There are influenced other factors for have better potion, even in some cases may be more important than personal merit.
"When the student is ready the teacher appears" is a phrase that does not apply in all cases. If we think of the rich who educate their children in prestigious schools, they will be ready for when the teacher, because they have important skills and knowledge socially inculcated and reinforced. But I would not say the same for the case of the poor. Teachers do not reach these areas that we students are not prepared. This phrase applies more to those who believe the system is meritocratic.
